Wrapping round or cylindrical objects presents a particular challenge when it comes to gift giving. Flat paper often creates unprofessional results by leaving folds that crease easily, leading to unattractive wrinkles on its surface that mar the look of an otherwise perfect present.

To address your problem, try employing a simple trick which works on all circular objects.

Paper

Spherical gifts such as basketballs for athletes or crystal balls for fortune tellers can present a wrapping challenge, but you don’t have to let this keep you down! Simply use some smart folds with your preferred paper to wrap these presents like an expert. Begin by selecting a sheet at least an inch larger than the gift itself before placing the item face-up on top; this allows you to adjust its size to meet its size more precisely and give the gift a neater appearance once wrapped.

Next, fold the top and bottom edges of the paper together into the middle so they meet at one of their edges, making sure that the crease is straight and smooth. Tape each fold in place; repeat on both sides of your gift to help ensure its shape stays flat while keeping its edges from shifting around. Afterward, embellish it with ribbon and gift tags!

Fabric can make for an interesting alternative to paper when wrapping round gifts, making your present more unique and personalized. Simply choose a piece four times larger than the surface area of your present and fold and crease its edges as with paper before crossing its ends over each other and tying a knot at each end to secure it securely.

If you want to give a thoughtful, earth-friendly present, consider making your own wrapping from recycled newspaper and magazine pages. Doing this shows your love and gratitude toward those in your circle while creating an interesting visual appeal; even consider giving all your gifts under one theme or color scheme for maximum effect!

As an example, you could adorn a box of chocolates with matching tissue paper and ribbon – not forgetting tying a bow for added flair!

Fabric

Gift wrap paper may be the default choice, but there are alternatives that can give the same result without creating as much mess. One such alternative is furoshiki fabric – a Japanese-style cloth designed specifically for gift wrapping – which can be personalized according to any occasion and even decorated using markers and stickers for an elegant and unique result.

When using this technique, ensure you have four times as much fabric as the surface area of the circular gift you intend to cover. Next, fold one edge of fabric toward the center and crimp it, before folding over one of its remaining sides over this crimped edge and taping it to the base of it all. Continue this process until all parts of your present are covered with fabric.

Another great alternative is using patterned paper. A map of a city could be an ideal choice, while road maps or topographical maps would make great presents for someone who enjoys travel or outdoor pursuits. Old aeronautical or marine maps also work great – just ensure they have been cleaned off without torn edges!

For gifts that do not conform to an ideal circle, the twist method may be your solution. Simply lay flat your wrapping paper or tissue paper before rolling it up until the top edge of the gift reaches it; secure this final step with tape or glue and tie a ribbon around its base.

If you need to wrap numerous gifts, use a roll of wrapping paper larger than each present so you can fold over any excess and hide any flaws in the wrapping process while making it appear more professional. This will allow for easier disguise of flaws while giving more professional results.

Tissue

Tissue paper makes an effortless addition to a gift bag and displays, and comes in all manner of colors, designs and shimmering holographic options. Thicker yet more durable than paper tissue, non-woven tissue can still look delicate while being more durable – perfect for wrapping flowers or gifts as creative finishing touches on displays or providing creative finishing touches in displays.

Begin by gathering your gift and a flat piece of tissue paper. Choose either just one color, or use three shades for an eye-catching layered effect. Loosely layer sheets of tissue paper on top and fold the top and bottom together before cutting the open end off into either a point or circle shape – simple!

To wrap a large gift bag, begin by rolling out some wrapping paper on a flat surface and placing the gift onto it to determine how much paper will be necessary. When complete, cut this sheet to size before setting aside.

Fold the corners towards the center until there is an ample overlap, press down on it, and secure it with clear or double-sided tape to square off your edges for a nicer finished product. This process is commonly known as “squaring the edges”.

Add some flair to your paper bag gift by decorating it with tissue paper embellishments like ribbon and tags made from tissue paper, birthday balloons or pompoms! Additionally, tie a piece of ribbon through its handles as an additional special touch!

Add some glitter and shine to your gift with gem colored tissue paper embellished with holographic glitter for an eye-catching gift that stands out in the crowd. This non-woven tissue is sure to turn heads!

Tissue paper is also inexpensive and easily available in an assortment of colors, patterns and looks. Plus, its foldability makes it simple to fluff it up for big events! Perfect to dress up a simple box, or create stunning displays of gifts at grand occasions!

Ribbon

Once you learn the proper techniques, wrapping a round flat gift with ribbon can seem intimidating; but it can actually be very straightforward. All that is needed for success is high-quality ribbon that is thin and non-wired – this will make wrapping much simpler! To start off, take the end closest to the spool and fold it back over itself, creating a loop approximately the size of your fingertip. Now take the other end and loosely wrap it around its base; printing should face out so the ends can be pulled tight to secure their positions! Once tightening knotted tightly enough, pull on both ends simultaneously to tighten its knot!

Now it is time to add the bow! This step of wrapping a circular present is the easiest and can also be the most elegant. Start by holding one end of your ribbon at its future position; while holding it there, fold/bend it 90-degrees such that its path crosses over the center of your box.

Repeat the same process on the other side of your ribbon. Ultimately, when finished, its backside should feature two symmetrical tails which perfectly accentuate your gift bow’s appearance. Trim off any unnecessary tails to maintain an aesthetically pleasing appearance before sealing with tape.

Now it’s time to see your hard work pay off! Your beautifully wrapped present will become the talk of the town – and why not add a tag too?
