How to Wrap a Poster As a Gift

Posters offer research in an accessible format for viewers. Unlike paintings in museums, posters were meant to be seen by large audiences for extended periods of time – unlike paintings which may only ever be viewed by a select few people.

White space on your poster can help visually delineate different sections, and lead the eye from point A to point B. Aim to leave 10–30% of the page as white space.

1. Wrapping Paper

Before giving a poster as a present, it would be ideal if it could be framed, but if that is not possible there are still ways of protecting it – for instance you could roll it up and put it in a poster tube, or wrap it as any other present would.

Before beginning to wrap a poster or something else flat, first clear a large surface. Gather your gift-wrapping supplies: sheet of wrapping paper, scissors and tape as well as the gift itself. It’s wise to choose sturdy paper such as parchment or Kraft as this can support its weight better.

Spread out a piece of wrapping paper and place your poster, printed side down. Fold up the bottom edge over it, crease with your thumb along both ends, and secure with 1-inch pieces of tape – repeat this process on both sides.

Once completed, your gift is ready for presentation – simply slide the taped end under a ribbon or string and tie it off for easy giving! Your recipient will have an exciting surprise waiting them!

If your poster is enclosed in a tube, make sure that there is an air cushion around its edges using paper or other material (such as crumpled grocery bags ). Otherwise, the poster could rub against its edges and become dented over time.

When packing a poster or other flat object in a box, start by cutting a piece of wrapping paper to fit it precisely – two to four inches larger on all sides is ideal. Sandwich the poster between two pieces of cardboard and tape them securely together before wrapping in wrapping paper with optional decoration such as bows for an impressive presentation! Your recipient will love receiving such thoughtful gifts!

2. Bubble Wrap

Posters make great presents, whether it’s one with boy bands and sports heroes for younger recipients or vintage travel posters as keepsakes for adults. Wrapping it can add extra fun and make opening it all the more of an experience!

Bubble wrap is an economical and multipurpose material that has many uses. Most commonly, its bubbles provide cushioning material for products during shipping; its bubbles also add visual interest. Some companies even employ bubble wrap in creative packaging designs; for instance, dog toys might come packaged with bones-shaped bubble wrap while Valentine’s Day boxes may feature hearts.

Bubble wrap posters can be easily wrapped by placing it crosswise onto a sheet of wrapping paper and folding its bottom over it; secure this fold with tape before repeating this step for left and right edges, using 1-inch pieces to secure each edge to the poster.

For larger poster sizes, it may be more effective to roll up and place it in a cardboard tube for shipment. This gives it more of a framed appearance while keeping it safer during delivery; just ensure the mailing tube is longer than your rolled poster to prevent any possible bends or dent during transit.

Creative poster wrapping requires wrapping it with colorful bubble wrap for an artistic touch. Select the paint color you’d like to use, dip your brush in it and begin free-hand painting designs onto the poster using either freehand marks or more traditional techniques such as squiggles or wisps before waiting until all the paint dries before giving your wrapped poster away to its recipient.

3. Stiffener

Posters placed inside tubes can become dented easily if their ends touch. Adding stiffeners will help avoid this scenario and ensure that your gift resembles art from a gallery wall. Use two pieces of stiff material measuring at least an inch longer and wider than folded dimensions of your poster and tape them together securely for best results.

4. Box

Boxes make for great posters as gifts – not only will it protect them from damage but they can make the poster stand out and give the illusion that it belongs in an art gallery! Add ribbons, paper strings or bows for an additional festive touch!

Fan fold wrapping can also be an easy and cost-effective way to give a poster as a present, ideal for cylindrical-shaped gifts such as bottles of wine or tall jars of homemade treats. Although larger items like bicycles or strollers could use this technique as well, to reduce paper waste it would be wiser to place such gifts into gift bags instead.

To create this wrap, begin with a square sheet of gift wrapping paper and set your item on it. Use the folded guidelines of the gift wrap as guides when folding the paper around to form pleats on either end – when finished tape each side to keep from unraveling!

If you’re giving a poster as a present, consider personalizing it by adding an inscription that expresses how much they mean to you and reminding the recipient that this gift was indeed special and they won’t forget it anytime soon! A personalized note can make sure the present will always remain memorable in their memories.

Consider using a mailing tube when choosing how to wrap your gift. This will eliminate the need for folding, while protecting it from potential damages during shipping and handling. They come in various sizes and can be decorated with ribbons, paper strings or bows – you could even select silk ribbon for an opulent feel or paper string for more rustic appearance.
